DC named high school head wrestling coach

The current UFC light heavyweight Daniel Cormier (20-1-0, 1NC) is a very busy man these days. Now he’s adding another important responsibility to his plate. DC has been named the head wrestling coach at the Gilroy High School in Northern California. It’s where Cormier currently resides with his wife and two children.

He’ll also continue serving as the head coach of the Daniel Cormier-AKA Youth Wresting club. And he has programs in place at two local San Jose gyms, Knoxx Gym and LUTE! Training Academy.

And don’t forget about his upcoming heavyweight title fight agains champion Stipe Miocic (18-2-0). He’s working hard to prepare for that fight. He’s also one of the UFC’s busiest television analysts.

This opportunity is huge for me. Wrestling has been the foundation for everything I’ve done. I’m excited to coach a great team in Gilroy and excited to give back to the town that has accepted me and my family so openly. Thank you to Dr. Marco Sanchez (principal) for giving me this opportunity and thanks to my wife Salina for allowing me to pile more onto an already full plate
